A Bunch Of Digital Publishers Bought Cheap Traffic And Later Found Out It Was Fraudulent
BuzzFeed's Craig Silverman uncovers fake traffic that was sent to pages containing ads for JPMorgan Chase, Visa, Amazon, KFC, and other big brands.
Some publishers ceased using the traffic after reading the BuzzFeed News article that revealed its origins, the system generating automated redirects, and the fact that verification company DoubleVerify deemed it fraudulent after a detailed investigation.
